Amazon.com releases new rules, a large number of sellers' product links are deleted

While browsing Amazon's official forum, I noticed that Amazon US released new regulations on submitting dietary supplement compliance documents on January 11.

Amazon said in the announcement: "Selling dietary supplements in the United States requires submission of compliance documents. Starting January 10, 2022, we have modified the way you submit dietary supplement compliance documents in the US store."

Dietary Supplements sellers can view ASINS and   SKU   , then select Request Approval. You can also submit documentation by searching for your product in Add Products in the Inventory menu and selecting Apply to Sell.

Affected by the policy, a large number of sellers in this category have recently reported that their product links have been deleted. Seller "sell4more" said: Amazon has deleted a large number of dietary supplement products, including some of his best-selling products on Amazon. In addition, "sell4more" said that he has not received any notification that compliance documents are required for products in this category.

An Amazon forum moderator said under the post: "As we shared on November 1, 2021, as part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best customer experience, we have implemented additional approval requirements for sexual enhancement and weight management supplement products. Starting January 10, 2022, we will not allow listings that do not meet the file requirements for this category of products."

Some sellers believe that it is the right thing for Amazon to strictly manage this category of products. Because there are many dietary supplement products on Amazon, and most of these supplements either fall below the relevant requirements for supplements or are simply useless. Removing these supplement products that do not meet the requirements is a good thing for consumers.

Some sellers also believe that Amazon’s move has caused them some economic losses, because Amazon directly deleted their product links without prior notice, and some sellers’ product links were not restored by Amazon after they submitted compliance documents, which has had a great negative impact on their business.

In short, Amazon’s decision to strictly manage dietary supplement products is a foregone conclusion. Sellers in this category must conduct self-inspections in a timely manner and upload relevant compliance documents in accordance with Amazon’s requirements to avoid affecting their subsequent operations.
