eBay reminds sellers to pay attention to carrier rate changes in 2022

Recently, eBay issued a new announcement to remind sellers that carrier rates will change in 2022.

eBay said that as the holiday season draws to a close, the rates and surcharges charged by carriers will soon end. USPS will return to standard rates on December 26, 2021, while some of FedEx's increased surcharges will remain in place until January 16, 2022.

In addition, major carriers have also announced rate changes for 2022. eBay will provide sellers with a summary of rate increases to reduce the time and effort of sellers' work. At the same time, eBay will continue to work closely with its carrier partners to provide sellers with the best shipping rates on eBay labels. Although carriers have announced average increases, the actual changes in rates depend on weight and region. eBay encourages sellers to check carrier rates to understand the actual impact of these changes on sellers' shipments.

Subsequently, eBay announced the specific changes in the rates of major operators:

1. USPS®

Effective January 9, 2022, rates for the following USPS shipping services will increase equally:

(1) Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express – 3.1% increase

(2) First-class packages – increased by 8.8%

(3) Priority Mail International – up 3.7%

(4) First Class International Service – up 4.2%

2. FedEx®

Effective January 3, 2022:

(1) Rates for FedEx Ground, FedEx 2Day® and FedEx Home Delivery® services – an increase of 5.9%

(2) FedEx Ground Economy – up 6.9%

(3) Sellers still need to keep abreast of relevant information about FedEx rates. Changes in freight surcharges and shipping costs may affect the seller's total shipping costs.   

3. UPS®

(1) At this time, there is no increase in eBay shipping label rates. eBay will promptly notify sellers of any changes in shipping rates.

(4) Sellers still need to keep abreast of relevant information about UPS rates. Changes in freight surcharges and shipping costs may affect the seller's total shipping costs.

4. eBay delivery service

(1) eBay standard envelope rates have not increased

(2) eBay International Standard Delivery - Rates will be updated based on the destination country /region in 2022

eBay reminds sellers to print seller labels on emails in time to increase the convenience of transportation.
