Attention, a large number of American Asian book sellers have received warnings to stop selling!

Recently, when I was browsing the official Amazon forum, I noticed that a large number of book sellers on the US site reported that they had received emails from Amazon asking them to apply for sales approval within a specific time, otherwise their products would be removed from the shelves.

The bookseller, who goes by the handle “combinola,” said he received two emails from Amazon yesterday . The emails read: “ As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best customer experience, we have implemented additional approval requirements for William Morrow products. Starting November 11, 2021, you will need approval to sell these affected products. If you are not approved by this date, your listing will be removed.

Amazon also said that to apply for approval, sellers need to go to the Approval Needed view in the " Fix Your Product " page in Seller Central and select Request Approval. Alternatively, you can apply for selling approval using the following steps:

1. In Seller Central, click the Inventory menu and select Add Product.

2. Search for items to sell.

3. In the search results, click the Apply to sell link next to the item.

4. Click Request Approval to start the application process.

It is important to note that in some cases Amazon may not accept applications to sell certain products.

Under this post, many book sellers kept replying that they had also received similar emails, including books published by William Morrow, Little Brown , MARINER BOOKS , Wiley-Blackwell , Da Capo Press , Tyndale House Publishers , St. Martin's Press , and other publishers.

Sellers will need to apply for approval of sales of these affected book products one by one. For sellers with thousands of book products, this will create a huge workload. One seller said that he received 5 such emails yesterday . If this situation continues, it will have a great negative impact on their business activities.

Another seller said that they had received emails from Amazon asking for approval for book products that had been out of stock for a long time. The seller was very angry about this because it might have a certain impact on the health of his account. He also believed that these emails from Amazon were "worthless things."

There are many different opinions on why sellers received these emails at the same time. Some people think that publishers may be putting pressure on Amazon to restrict other sellers from selling their products, while others think that Amazon is trying to slowly restrict second-hand book sellers. Regardless of the reason, the impact on the business activities of book sellers on Amazon is still quite large.
