Joom and Worldline establish partnership

Online platform Joom is from Latvia. It was founded in 2016 and was the first online platform to provide European sellers with access to the Russian market. Since then, it has mainly sold low-priced products made in China. In addition to its headquarters in Latvia, the company also has offices in Luxembourg, Russia, Hong Kong, China and the United States.

Joom is mainly active in the European market, covering more than 150 countries and regions, of which Russia is an important market. Joom is one of the fastest growing international e-commerce platforms in the world. It became the most downloaded shopping application in Europe in 2018 and achieved more than 300 million downloads worldwide in less than 4 years of its existence .

The platform offers more than 20 million products in different categories, with the most popular being clothing, footwear, beauty, home kitchen, and electronics.

Recently, in order to consolidate its market position in Russia, Joom has established a partnership with local payment service provider Worldline , so that Russian sellers and buyers can have more payment methods. By adding payment options that are familiar to Russian shoppers and retailers, the platform will make its users more comfortable, which will help improve checkout conversion rates, customer engagement and loyalty.

According to Joom, Russia is an important market for us, with 144 million potential customers . Partnering with Worldline makes what could have been a difficult process very easy, and we are confident that we can thrive in new markets.

Worldline itself also plans to expand into Europe and Greece. Earlier this week, it announced the acquisition of Eurobank Merchant Acquiring, which operates in Greece and has a 20% market share in the Greek acquisition market . The cooperation with Joom provides Worldline with an opportunity to enter the European market.

In addition, Joom has recently launched a new service, Joom Logistics, in Europe and South Korea , continuously expanding its market scope.

Russian e-commerce is in a booming stage, and this cooperation with Joom will further penetrate the Russian market.
