Seller attempts to change shipping price, subsequently disqualified from Amazon's product selection offer

Recently, the editor learned from the Amazon official seller forum that a seller reported that after he tried to change the shipping price, Amazon deleted his product's eligibility for selected discounts.

Seller Malkavian said that due to the VTR (valid tracking rate) policy requirements launched by the Canadian site, he tried to edit the shipping template and adjusted the shipping fee from free shipping to US$9.99, and then adjusted it back to free shipping within a few seconds, but received an email from Amazon's official seller performance team.

The email stated that Amazon believed that the seller abused the shipping costs on the product detail page, so Amazon decided to cancel the seller's eligibility for selected offers for all ASINs. Amazon said that the working team received complaints about the fluctuation of shipping costs on the seller's product detail page. If Amazon continues to receive complaints, it may delete the seller's products and not allow the seller to continue selling on the Amazon platform.

Many sellers also said that they had the same problem. They were punished by Amazon after simply trying to modify the shipping settings. The sellers discussed this matter in the forum.

Seller A: You changed your price twice in less than a minute, which is why Amazon disqualified your product from the Featured Offers. Now you have to wait for Amazon's response, which may take weeks. Even if you file an appeal, Amazon will reject your appeal.

Seller B: Unfortunately, you are not dealing with an Amazon human being. You are being penalized by an Amazon robot that detects rapid price changes. If you had waited an hour before changing your shipping price, this penalty would probably not have occurred.

Then, the seller racingroxstore summarized two key points:

First, don’t get obsessed with trying some new “features.” Although Amazon claims that its policies are favorable to sellers, in reality, all the new features Amazon launches are for its own benefit.

Second, if you do want to test one of their new “features,” do it as a separate, small experiment. Create a new shipping template, select shipping automation and assign only one or two SKUs. If you don’t like how it performs, you can simply delete the template and move the SKUs back to the original template.
