The survey results show that this year, about 95% of sellers on the Ozon market plan to participate in promotional activities in November, including Singles' Day and Black Friday.
According to Ozon 's survey data, sellers in the clothing category are most willing to conduct promotional activities in November on its platform , with 20% of respondents in the clothing category saying they will sell goods at a discount in November . Home and garden products rank second , followed closely by beauty products and toys .
At the same time, about one-fifth of the sellers surveyed said they would launch new products for sale during promotional activities , and about one-tenth of the sellers planned to clear inventory through promotional activities in November.
When asked about the purpose of participating in promotions, most sellers said they hoped to increase product sales during the promotion period , with a proportion of 84%. Another 67% of sellers hoped to use the delay effect to increase sales after the promotion ends . Finally, 48% of sellers said they hoped to expand their loyal consumer base through promotions.
According to Ozon 's survey, the main difficulty that sellers said when preparing for promotions is how to make money from discounts instead of losing money due to large discounts. To help sellers cope with this challenge , Ozon has also developed a peak season calculator feature to help sellers calculate the actual discount strength of promotional items and how it will change sales.
Only a small number of sellers are interested in the new feature launched by Ozon . According to Ozon 's survey, 47% of the sellers surveyed said they would also use their own sales discount analysis, and only 36% of the respondents said they would try the new Ozon peak season calculator feature in their personal accounts .
In addition to the desire to win more profits , sellers also mentioned other problems they encountered when participating in promotional activities , such as low demand for certain non-seasonal products, insufficient inventory of goods, and increased purchase prices from manufacturers and suppliers of goods.
