Etsy to test early Christmas sales

According to foreign media reports, Etsy released the latest announcement that it will invite platform sellers to participate in early holiday sales activities. Sellers participating in the event are required to offer a 20% discount promotion.

 

Etsy said that the specific test time is from October 11 to 12, and its purpose is to allow buyers to choose their favorite Christmas products in advance. Etsy said that if there are sellers whose stores are selling such products, this test period will be a good opportunity. Early exposure can not only help sellers reach customers earlier, but also increase the number of visits to the platform.

 

According to the report, many retailers are trying to start the holiday shopping season early recently. In addition, the global supply chain is tense this year, which may threaten and cause delays in delivery during the holiday season, thus providing consumers with a greater possibility of early shopping.

 

Etsy recommends that sellers interested in this promotion should prepare in advance to arrange promotional activities between October 11 and 12. Sellers can use the coupon tool in the store to conduct discount promotions. Some people said that more than 40% of the current business on the platform comes from repeat customers, and their consumption each time will exceed US$200. In addition, some sellers have insurance measures to protect their goods, so there is no logistics problem.

 

In addition, Etsy is reported to have recently launched new features in its Star Seller Program, including recovery messages and shipping updates, in which service evaluations are directly linked to the timeliness and interactivity of sellers’ recovery messages.

 

Although Etsy has been trying to provide more convenience for both buyers and sellers, the series of new features recently launched have always been complained by foreign sellers, and this time is no exception. They believe that the target of this promotion is mainly small and medium-sized sellers, and after participating in the discount plus the final cost consumption, the sellers will face more than just a 20% discount loss.

 

But as Etsy itself said, early exposure will bring more traffic to sellers, allowing them to grab customers one step ahead of others. Now most platforms are preparing for the arrival of the shopping season, and sellers must keep up with the pace of each platform.
