Search volume surges! 41% of British consumers will shop early this Christmas

Christmas is a very important holiday for European and American countries. On Christmas Eve, people usually buy a lot of items to celebrate, such as food, tableware, decorations ... Nowadays, online merchants usually carry out large-scale marketing activities during this period to attract people to go on a shopping spree during this period.

 

According to foreign media reports, a survey report by e Bay shows that British consumers are optimistic about Christmas this year , and most of them said they will shop early this Christmas. Among them , 41% of consumers said they will complete Christmas shopping before December and may spend more budget during the holiday season.

 

The report shows that in 2020, only 13% of people said they would increase their spending at Christmas , while 31% said they would reduce their spending. But this year is different. 30% of consumers said they plan to increase their spending at Christmas this year, and only 15% plan to reduce their spending . 30% of consumers said they will spend more money at Christmas , indicating that they are confident in their financial situation .

 

However, many consumers also said they were worried that the holidays might be affected by the new coronavirus pandemic, with 30% saying they might celebrate Christmas with friends or family in advance , and nearly half of consumers saying they might postpone their Christmas plans until the last minute.

 

It is understood that on eBay , the search volume for Christmas-related keywords has started to increase since August, among which second - hand toys, sporting goods, clothing, shoes, accessories, home furnishings and gifts have become popular search terms . Compared with July , the Christmas search volume for clothing, shoes and accessories, as well as home furnishings and DIY categories in August increased by 83% and 85% respectively .

 

eBay showed searches for "Beanie Babies," "Hot Wheels," and "Sylvanian Families" increased 118%, 82%, and 69%, respectively.

 

Moreover , eBay said that now all British people can sell second-hand toys and gifts on its platform. They can earn 500 pounds by selling 15 items, and then people can use this money to buy new Christmas goods . Sellers can make marketing plans and preheat promotions based on the information in eBay's survey report on British consumers, and strive to prepare enough goods before December and sell them online!
