Amazon may launch new private-label products in October

According to foreign media reports, Amazon may launch its own brand TV as early as October. The TV may be designed and manufactured by third-party companies such as TCL, and the screen size may be between 55 and 75 inches. According to NetEase News, Amazon has previously registered relevant patents, and currently has 7,242 public product patents related to Amazon TV worldwide.

Amazon has always considered the construction of its own brand as an important task. It will not only bring considerable revenue to Amazon, but also help Amazon expand its market. Although the exact time of the launch of this TV has not yet been announced, many foreign consumers have expressed their expectations.

In fact, TVs are not the first private-label product launched by Amazon. The private-label plan was proposed in 2009, and Amazon has been accelerating the development of its own products since 2017. In 2018 alone, more than 60 products were added. By 2020, the product categories have covered beauty, clothing accessories, kitchen supplies, office supplies, groceries, etc., with more than 20,000 private-label products .

Amazon's own product sales are also considerable, accounting for more than one-third of total sales. Although its products are difficult to catch up with third-party sellers in terms of quantity, its considerable sales have intensified market competition , so many third-party sellers regard it as a competitor.

Amazon has many advantages in building its own brands. First, Amazon has always been at the top of the e-commerce platform, and has taken the lead in product promotion and marketing. There are many brands cooperating with Amazon. While developing its own brands, Amazon can also develop combination brands at the same time, creating a linkage effect . In addition, Amazon's own brands save on intermediary costs, so they are cheap and very popular with consumers.

Currently, Amazon is not the only platform that is accelerating its own brand building and product development. Many e-commerce platforms are also involved. Its biggest competitor, Walmart, launched more than 200 own brand products last year.
