According to foreign media reports, Mercado Libre has officially launched its membership subscription service. Since its subscription service is divided into six levels, the monthly fee for each level of membership is also different. Users of levels 1 to 5 have to pay 899, 803, 755, 659, and 599 pesos respectively (this is the amount required for users who have not accumulated points). As the service is launched one after another, Mercado Libre is also making corresponding adjustments in terms of fees.
After the launch of this service in Mexico, the monthly fee ranges from 225 pesos to 125 pesos depending on the level. Users can enjoy exclusive offers, 30-day free returns, and up to 50% discount on shipping costs.
The monthly subscription fee is negatively correlated with the points accumulated by consumers, and user points are usually obtained in the form of shopping. This means that the more consumers buy, the more points they have, and the lower the subscription fee will be. In the Mexican market, 1 point requires consumers to buy goods worth 14 pesos, and the points are valid for one year.
If users can reach the highest level, Mercado Libre will allow users to sign contracts with platforms such as HBO Max and Deezer at a 50% discount. (HBO Max is a streaming platform created by Warner, and Deezer is an online music website in France, which means that users can enjoy multiple services of the platform.)
The head of Mercado Libre said that the subscription volume of this service is currently the highest among Latin American e-commerce companies. This subscription service requires users to gradually upgrade through platform applications or through points in platform transactions. In addition to convenient shopping, users can also enjoy more media services.
According to Comscore data, Mercado Libre ranks first in the Mexican e-commerce rankings and is also the most popular e-commerce platform among local consumers. Not long ago, Mercado Libre also announced a partnership with the American store BigCommerce Holdings to further expand the market. Currently, the online shopping volume of Latin American e-commerce is still growing, and the development speed of local e-commerce is faster than that of foreign e-commerce, and the consumption trend is positive.
