From offline to online, Amazon platform sales increased by 100% year-on-year

According to foreign media reports, an American couple, Kebab and Rachel Conte, revitalized and developed their coffee business by transferring it to the Amazon platform during the epidemic , achieving excellent results of doubling sales .

Born and raised in Denmark, Rachel moved to the United States in 1993 and subsequently met her husband, Keba , a San Francisco Bay Area native. Since then, the two have built a life together, raising their two daughters and building a coffee business within the community .

With the support of family and friends, and an initial crowdfunding campaign, the couple founded Red Bay Coffee in 2014. For Kebab, as an African American, owning and succeeding in his own business has profound life values.

After that, its coffee brand quickly became a mainstay in the community, with the slogan "providing customers with beautiful coffee" . But at this time, the physical store in Red Bay was more than just a community coffee shop. However, when the epidemic spread rapidly in 2020 , the community coffee shop carefully built by Keba and Rachel was greatly impacted .

Under such circumstances, they have to come up with another way to retain customers . In the context of the epidemic, the most direct and effective way is to reconnect with customers through e-commerce .

For many small businesses, e-commerce has become a lifeline during the pandemic . Keba and Rachel similarly saw the pandemic as an opportunity to reach their existing customers in new ways, while also leveraging their selling partnership with Amazon to make Red Bay Coffee accessible to even more people .

Like many of Amazon’s nearly 2 million selling partners, most of which are small and medium-sized businesses, Red Bay pivoted to online sales and grew rapidly , growing nearly 100% year-over-year from 2020 to 2021.

Red Bay recently participated in Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator Program , a $150 million commitment that enables Black entrepreneurs to become successful sellers on the Amazon platform and help them build sustainable and diverse growth.
