Spanish children's fashion sales grow by more than 11% and will exceed 1 billion euros

According to foreign media reports, children's fashion products in Spain grew by 8% in 2021 , and children's fashion products are leading the growth of children's product categories. According to the forecast of the Spanish Association of Children's Products ( Asepri) , the growth rate of children's fashion products will exceed 11% in 2022 , and the turnover will exceed the 1 billion euro mark , reaching 1.17 billion euros.

 

Asepri explained that the rise of e-commerce is driving the recovery of the children's industry, with e-commerce sales increasing significantly in 2021. " Companies in the children's fashion products industry should focus on online channels to better serve digital, more rational, thoughtful and omnichannel consumers , " the association said in a statement.

 

At the same time, local and neighborhood commerce is also key to maintaining and promoting the development of multi-brand commerce in children's products . According to the Asepri Association , sales between manufacturers and operators, the degree of e-commerce penetration in the industry can, to a certain extent, represent the business development trend of the industry in the next few years.

 

It is reported that in 2020 , the turnover of the Spanish children's products sector fell by 12.5% . The main reason for the decline was the Spanish epidemic control measures and the restrictions introduced by the government in the face of an increase in the number of infections. In addition, another reason for the decline in sales in the industry was the decline in the birth rate of infants in Spain , rising raw material prices and the transportation crisis.

 

In 2020, exports of children's fashion and footwear accounted for 57% of total sales, and exports of child care products accounted for 38% . The Spanish children's products industry exports mainly to Italy , Portugal, Greece, France, the United Kingdom, Russia and Germany. At the same time, Asepri also expects that the industry's export strength in 2021 and 2022 will remain unchanged compared to 2020 .

 

In Spain , the regions with the highest turnover in children 's fashion products are Madrid, Catalonia, Andalucia and Valencia, which account for 70% of children's product sales . At the same time, in Spain, online shopping has become the fastest growing channel for children's fashion .
