What is Daraz

Overview

Daraz was founded and incubated by RocketInternet. It started its e-commerce business in Pakistan in 2012. In 2016, Daraz's e-commerce business expanded to five countries: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Myanmar. In May 2018, Alibaba acquired Daraz.

Currently, Daraz covers a huge consumer market of nearly 500 million people. With the deepening of Alibaba's AIDC digitalization and the support of technology, Daraz has great development potential in South Asia.

Entry requirements

Daraz has long been an invitation-based system, actively inviting new sellers. With the rapid development of the platform's cross-border business in recent years, the platform has opened an official application channel. After the Chinese seller's application is reviewed by the platform, they will receive an invitation email and follow the email prompts to complete the store opening steps step by step.

Logistics costs

Daraz's official dedicated logistics is Cainiao International. Merchants need to pack and send the received orders to Cainiao's domestic collection warehouse within 5 days to complete the fulfillment. All subsequent logistics are handled by Cainiao and local Daraz Express and finally delivered to the customer. Merchants can track the status of the package in the background and settle the freight directly in the Cainiao system (PS: In order to better serve merchants, merchants need to maintain a pre-charge of no less than 1,000 yuan in their Cainiao account). Logistics freight, basic package requirements, and Cainiao's domestic sorting warehouse information are as follows:

Prohibition and restriction on sales

Since the current cross-border platforms all use the domestic small package direct delivery model, and the South Asian countries are countries with very strong religious customs, there are many restrictions on cross-border categories. Seller friends must first understand the various prohibited categories and confirm that their product resources are not on the following prohibited items list.
