Recently, there have been constant turmoil in the cross-border circle, with stores being closed, shipping costs skyrocketing, and products unsalable... After the Ningbo Zhoushan Port had confirmed cases of COVID-19 and stopped operations, bad news also came from the port area of Alashan City.
On August 15, at the port area of Alashankou City, Bortala Prefecture, Xinjiang, testers found three positive nucleic acid test reports , which were later diagnosed as asymptomatic infections by experts. Subsequently, the Alashankou City Epidemic Prevention and Control Command immediately launched an emergency response, investigated close contacts, and quarantined all of them.
As of press time, the Alashankou Port has urgently implemented epidemic prevention and control measures, and has announced the activity trajectories of three asymptomatic infections, all of whom have no history of overseas travel.
It is reported that Alashankou Port, as a border port between China and Kazakhstan, is a national first-class port and is of great significance to my country's foreign trade enterprises.
With its flexible cargo consolidation and LCL model, shorter time cost (-60% compared to sea transportation) and lower price cost (-60% compared to sea transportation), the port has become an important transportation hub connecting my country and Central Europe (Central Asia), and is highly favored by cross-border companies in international logistics services. Data shows that from January to July this year, the port has handled a total of 3,561 China-Europe (Central Asia) trains entering and leaving the country, achieving a seven-month growth. At present, the Alashankou Port is still opening new routes, and 50 routes have been opened, including "Yuxinou", "Zhengxinou", "Chang'an", "Chengxinou" and so on.
Moreover, it is understood that the cross-border e-commerce packages exported by this port mainly come from domestic manufacturing bases such as Dongguan, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen. The products include more than 200 kinds of toys, digital products, clothing, mobile phone accessories, daily necessities, etc., which are usually sold to more than 20 countries including Poland, Belgium, Germany, and Russia.
Now, there are new positive cases of COVID-19 at the Alashankou Port, which is bound to affect the logistics and transportation of the port, and the timeliness of Qatar Airways and railways will also be affected to a certain extent! Port COVID-19 Central Europe |
