An overseas version of "interest-free Huabei"? BigCommerce's new partnership provides merchants with a buy now, pay later service option

Recently, the independent website building platform BigCommerce has reached a cooperation with Sezzle . BigCommerce 's independent website sellers can provide consumers with buy now, pay later (BNPL) payment options including installment payments and interest-free payments .

Sezzle is a company that specializes in providing BNPL services to consumers. After this cooperation is reached, BigCommerce 's independent website sellers can enable the Sezzle plug-in in the control panel , and consumers will see the installment payment option at the checkout stage . This means that in the future , on BigCommerce 's independent website, consumers can choose the online shopping model of buy now and pay later without using a credit card .

Sezzle 's buy now, pay later service allows consumers to pay 25% of the order price at the time of purchase , and then pay the balance in three installments over six weeks , with each installment paying 25% of the order .

Similar to Huabei in China, in the Sezzle system, consumers can build up credit by using BNPL services multiple times . The credit system protects the rights and interests of sellers and buyers to the greatest extent possible . High-credit consumers with no bad records have the opportunity to allocate personal wealth more flexibly, and when sellers encounter low-credit consumers, the platform will also adopt a guarantee compensation mechanism to compensate merchants as much as possible .

Data shows that 60 % of American consumers use buy now, pay later payment methods for online shopping . In Australia, buy now, pay later payment methods account for 13% of all online shopping transactions .

Mark Rosales, vice president of BigCommerce, said: " In order to meet the needs of consumers , merchants are increasingly providing customers with buy now, pay later payment methods on their independent sites . Buy now, pay later payment methods such as installments have a strong appeal to young consumers . "

The majority of our users are consumers who are unable to use or avoid using traditional credit cards and are looking for a more affordable way to shop than with credit cards , said Sezzle . “Partnering with BigCommerce will provide our customers with this purchasing power, helping them improve their credit while getting the products they want .
