This year, Amazon India’s Prime Day lasted for two days from July 26 to 27. According to the data, the results were quite good.
30,000+ sellers’ single-day sales hit a record high
According to statistics, there were more than 120,000 small and medium-sized sellers participating in this Member Day , of which more than 30,000 sellers set a record high in single-day sales, creating the largest sales volume ever for small and medium-sized sellers. Compared with the previous Member Day, the number of sellers with sales exceeding 10 million rupees increased by nearly 25%.
Many of these sellers are from second-tier, third-tier and fourth-tier cities, such as Punjab, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, etc. Prime Day is also a unique opportunity for brands to launch new products. More than 300 Indian sellers and well-known global brands have launched new products during this period.
70% of new members also choose to shop in small cities, such as Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and other less developed places. The promotions on Member Day have also opened up new outlets for them, and many sellers have said that their sales have increased significantly.
"Our company has been established for four years, but we only started selling online on Amazon this year. During our first Prime Day event, our daily orders saw a huge increase. Our entire team is greatly encouraged, and this will help us survive in these difficult times," said Brijesh Mishra from Home UPS.
Hot Sellers
Judging from sales volume, categories such as personal computers, beauty, clothing, home and kitchen, and smartphones are more popular among local consumers.
Due to the epidemic, many people have to study and work at home, so the sales of laptops, printers, monitors, TVs, wearable devices and storage devices are relatively outstanding.
Large household appliances are also favored by consumers, such as LG and Samsung washing machines, Whirlpool and Samsung refrigerators, and Samsung microwave ovens. The sales of these home and kitchen appliances are also high.
In addition, during the epidemic, disinfection, health and safety remain the focus of life. The best-selling brands in personal care products and disinfection are Himalaya, Savlon, Dettol, Lifebuoy and Lizol.
Although the epidemic has caused the postponement of Prime Day in India this year , the suppressed desire to buy has not diminished in the slightest. Amazon India Prime Day |
