Sales increased by 142%! Korean umbrella-related products are selling well

It is understood that South Korean online shopping mall Gmarket announced on the 27th that umbrella sales increased by 87% from the 26th of last month to the 25th of this month compared with the same period last year.

 

In particular, sales of long umbrellas increased nearly threefold, while sales of folding umbrellas with more than two layers and transparent umbrellas increased by 73% and 52% respectively.

 

Fashion items suitable for rainy days are also very popular.

 

Sales of men's raincoats soared 142%, while sales of women's raincoats also increased by 60%. Sales of disposable raincoats increased by 15%, and sales of boots and jelly shoes also increased by 24% and 46% respectively.

 

In addition, sales of dehumidifiers more than tripled due to the humid weather, and sales of clothing dryers also increased by 28%.

 

During the same period, sales of golf umbrellas and dehumidifiers on the online shopping mall Auction increased by 5 times and more than 2 times respectively, and rain-related products were popular among the public.

 

A relevant person in charge of Gmarket said: "It is expected that local heavy rains will continue this summer, so the sales of such products will continue to rise throughout the summer."

 

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted in the "Summer Three-month Forecast (June to August) Explanation Book" released on the 24th of this month that due to the influence of low pressure and atmospheric instability, there will be heavy rainfall in some areas this summer, and the amount of precipitation in each region will vary greatly. However, according to analysis, it is difficult to regard the recent continuous rainfall as the beginning of the rainy season.
