French Showroomprivé sales rise 50.9% in Q1 to €178.4 million

According to foreign media reports, in the first quarter of 2021, France's Showroomprivé's group sales increased by 50.9% to 178.4 million euros, while its online sales increased by 53.7% to 176.5 million US dollars, with strong growth in almost all sales areas.

 

The company said its online sales in France were 147 million euros, up 51.8% in the period , while global online sales rose 64.1% to 29.5 million euros, driven by the wider Saldi Privati ​​takeover offer and recovery revenue. Revenue from other activities, including physical liquidation of unsold stock and online returns, amounted to 1.8 million euros.

 

Commenting on the first quarter results, Thierry Petit and David Dayan, co-founders and co-CEOs of Showroomprivé, said: “While we may have benefited from the quarter’s performance , the key factor was our ability to capitalise on the products on which the hard work of recent months has allowed us to build a premium brand and fully meet the expectations of our expanding customer base.

 

It is reported that since January 1, 2021, the cumulative number of buyers of Showroomprivé has increased by 200,000 due to the success of the marketing campaign.

 

The company said that continued high levels of new member acquisition, combined with the continued development of its repeat customer base, led to a 26% increase in the number of buyers in the period, and that the expansion of its offer, including new premium brands , continued to push up the average basket of goods to €44.7, with orders per buyer up 7.8% . Revenue per buyer in the first quarter was €106.6, up 22.8% year-on-year.

 

Showroomprive.com is a French e-commerce company specializing in online flash sales. Founded in 2006, the site offers daily exclusive sales of well-known brands in France and 8 other European countries. Currently, the group has become one of the largest online retailers in Europe, with more than 26 million members.

 

Showroomprivé 's financial report data shows that in 2020, its sales reached 697.5 million euros, an increase of 13.3% over the previous year. In particular, in the past 12 months, online sales increased by 14.1% to 688.1 million euros.
