Search volume reaches 5600%! Easter products are hot on Argos platform in the UK

According to new data from Argos, searches for Easter decorations on its online platform increased by a staggering 949% in March .

 

As spending on Easter gifts increases this year, British shoppers are beginning to prepare for the upcoming holiday weekend, with spending on Easter gifts and decorations exceeding last year, which has also attracted attention.

 

The increase in Easter spending is the result of a national survey of 2,000 people , with many calendar events now marked as major shopping occasions . Some 46 per cent of those surveyed said they would spend more than last year , while just 18 per cent said they would spend no more .

 

Searches for Easter wreaths increased by a whopping 5,600 per cent after celebrities Ruth Langsford and Stacey Solomon posted their own Easter decorations on social media .

 

Meanwhile, searches for Easter toys on the Argos website have surged 367% year -on-year . Among the retailer's best-selling gifts this season , products such as "Guess How Much I Love You" teddy bears and egg toys are hot sellers, becoming the best-selling toys and gifts .

 

Recently, Argos also shared the changes in consumer behavior on the platform after the epidemic , revealing the characteristics and unique consumption habits of some groups of consumers.

 

It is reported that Argos divides consumers into three categories according to their preferred shopping time periods , namely Wine O'Clock Shopper , Lunchtime Browser and Vampire Shopper .

 

Wine O'Clock Shopper likes to shop between 8 and 9 pm , and usually buys some home entertainment and electrical appliances, such as some video games, televisions, microwave ovens, etc.

 

Lunchtime Browsers are a group of consumers who usually shop during lunch time. Between 11am and 2pm in 2020, visits to the Argos platform more than doubled. Toys are the most popular product for this group.

 

Vampire Shoppers are night owls who shop between 1am and 5am. Last year, Argos had 46 million visitors during this time . Games, consoles and accessories such as headphones and controllers are their favorite products. In addition, sleeping products and dumbbells also have particularly high sales during this time.
