According to Iflop's latest survey, eBay has been selected as the favorite shopping market for French collectors. The most searched collectible products on the platform include pearl jewelry, mini truck models, collectible watches, Pokémon game cards and military-related products.
Sarah Tayeb, head of sales at eBay France , said that eBay has 185 million active buyers worldwide, and its cross-border platform provides a convenient shopping model for the French, enriching their shopping options. The changes in daily life caused by the epidemic have also made the French more trusting of cross-border shopping.
On eBay, the categories that French collectors love are clear. On the one hand, traditional collectibles, such as commemorative coins, stamps, ancient books or military supplies are sought after by French collectors. On the other hand, the latest popular products are also experiencing a collection boom. On the eBay platform, vinyl (27%), watches (13%), high-tech products, game consoles (12%) and sports shoes (8%) are the hottest collection categories.
Iflop and eBay jointly conducted a survey to find out the latest trends in French collections. More than one-third of French collectors live mainly in Ile-de-France and Provence. They said they prefer to search for collectibles on the eBay platform, and 49% use eBay to search and purchase collectibles. 63% of the respondents said that they chose eBay because of its international nature, 58% of users were attracted by eBay's auction model and large inventory, and 46% said that the prices of collectibles on the eBay platform are more competitive.
