Wayfair reports the latest spring trends, bright colors are the most popular

Recently, Wayfair, the largest home furnishing e-commerce company in the United States , shared the latest decoration trends for spring . Bright colors will make a comeback and become a highlight trend in spring decoration.

1. The colors are bold and bright

Vibrant colors are in . From bright blue kitchen backsplashes to bold black cabinets to bright pink refrigerators, this trend is a stark departure from the woodsy modern farmhouse style interiors that have dominated in recent years.

“The key to incorporating color when designing any room is finding color balance, ” said Rebecca Breslin, senior design manager for Wayfair Professionals .

Breslin also shares some interesting insights into why these colors are making a strong comeback , saying, “For many years, kitchen and bath designs have been too neutral, and builders and designers are looking for ways to add interest and differentiation for homebuyers and clients . ”

An easy way to get in on the trend is to incorporate it into appliances like refrigerators , which add the perfect pop of color to an otherwise neutral kitchen with red , pale green, baby blue and pink . Alternatively, Breslin suggests going with more subtle finishes for bolder innovations , like modern cabinets and stunning light fixtures.

2. Frosted finish

Matte appliances and cabinets are more popular this spring. While matte black cabinets and appliances are on trend, a matte finish with a pop of color is a great way to merge the two trends .

“Add fun pops of color to bathroom or kitchen finishes, especially warm tones, which are both soothing and unique in their tone,” Breslin says . “ Alternatively, matte brass light fixtures, matte blue vanities, and warm tiles can bring this trend into living spaces . ”

3. Smart Touch

The pandemic has made all of us more mindful of the objects we touch both at home and outside . As a result, interest in smart and contactless technology has increased . However, some people may hesitate to add it to their shopping carts because of the cost , but many smart products are available at affordable prices for consumers . For example: a contactless kitchen faucet is a good example.

Alternatively, those with a more generous budget might consider purchasing a smart refrigerator, which has features that help manage shared calendars, compile shopping lists, display photos, and more.

4. Mix Patterns

Mixing patterns feels especially fresh during the spring and summer months. So how do you combine things in a way that feels design-forward yet still puts together ?

“Embrace complementary colors, lead with one bold pattern, and layer the space with more subtle patterns and natural textures like wood grain, stone, etc.,” says Breslin . “ Pair patterned tiles or wallpaper with flooring with more subtle patterns , textured light fixtures and other wood finishes. ”

5. Warm Industrial Look

While the stark modern look is out, industrial design elements are still popular, including open shelving and metal accents. To prevent it from looking too cold, it’s best to use a mix of warm woods and earth tones .

“ The bronze and cement pendant lights and warm wood vanity units are very popular , ” Breslin says .

The pandemic has made people spend more time at home, and many people are tired of staring at the same walls. They may be ready to upgrade their home appliances or want to make the colors around them brighter and more uplifting. Therefore, retailers and brands should also innovate their products based on the popular trends of spring.
