As of this year, Yeouido in Seoul has canceled the cherry blossom festival for two consecutive years.

Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul announced on the 22nd that due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus infection, this year, like last year, it will fully control the 1.7-kilometer Spring Flower Road in Yeouido behind the National Assembly during the cherry blossom season.

It is understood that the control section is from the south end of Xijiang Bridge to the intersection of the National Assembly Hall from April 1 to 12. Vehicles will be prohibited from passing from the 1st to the 12th, and the pedestrian path will also be prohibited from passing from the 2nd to the 12th a day later.

Yeongdeungpo District plans to hold an online spring flower festival in cooperation with the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation and reality content company Vibe Studios . A portal website will be opened as a way for users to participate in the "Spring Flower Festival Field".

It is reported that if you want to watch the cherry blossoms in the controlled area , you can only apply in advance on the website and be selected by lottery . In addition, about 3,500 people participated in the event within 7 days.

From 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on April 5th to 11th, in accordance with the second stage of social distancing and the epidemic prevention code , 99 people including those involved in the event entered the Spring Flower Road at intervals of 1 hour and 30 minutes to enjoy a spring flower walk.

Yeongdeungpo-gu plans to hold live performances or book fairs on the site for citizens who are unable to come to the site, allowing people to watch the scenery of Yeouido with cherry blossoms in full bloom in real time.
