U.S. extends tariff exemptions on Chinese medical products until end of September
According to an announcement released by the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the Biden administration will extend tariff exemptions for approximately 99 medical products from China until September 30 this year to help respond to the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States.
The list covers everything from surgical masks and gloves to blood pressure cuffs and X-ray machines. Under the Trump administration's "Section 301," the previous extension of tariff exemptions for medical products will expire on March 31.
