Online consumption in Malaysia soars, LazMall sales surge

According to foreign media reports, according to statistics, the online shopping behavior of Malaysian consumers is currently showing a clear upward trend . During Lazada ’s recent 9.9 Biggest Brand Sale , the average monthly purchase of goods on LazMall by each Malaysian increased by more than 10 times, indicating that consumers are becoming more and more confident in online shopping. During the entire sale period, the number of store fans of most LazMall brands also increased by 3 times.

 

Chenxi Zhou, Head of LazMall at Lazada Malaysia , said: “We are pleased to see that LazMall’s promise of 100% authenticity and 15-day free returns has resonated well with our local customers. This uptick reflects Malaysians’ growing trust in LazMall as the go-to destination for shopping brands, including premium and luxury items costing up to thousands of ringgit.”

 

During this year’s Lazada 9.9 promotion, some of the most searched keywords by local Malaysian consumers were sports and leisure, smartphones, and household essentials brands. These included brands such as Puma, Nike, Adidas, Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei, Dyson, Watson, Dettol, and others, each of which was searched thousands of times. Currently, the fastest growing categories on LazMall are: beauty, groceries, and baby products, with purchases during the Lazada 9.9 promotion increasing by more than 15 times compared to last month.

 

In response, Chenxi said, “At the end of our recent 9.9 Big Brands Promotion, most participating LazMall brand partners saw their local store fans increase nearly three times from the previous month. This proves that LazMall can enable our official brand partners to connect and engage with their customer base nationwide.”

 

Chenxi stressed: “When consumers purchase items from their favorite LazMall brands, their experience is more than a simple transaction; instead, the customer journey reiterates the brand’s unique story and identity through a variety of engaging ways, such as live streaming or gaming.
