The number of buyers reached 33 million
It is reported that in the three to four years before 2019, the number of sellers on the GittiGidiyor platform was around 100,000. Under the epidemic, Turkey's digitalization process has been promoted, and the e-commerce market has a strong growth momentum. According to Statista data, the size of Turkey's e-commerce market is expected to reach 166.3 billion yuan by 2025.
Against this backdrop, the number of buyers on GittiGidiyor’s platform increased by about 5 million last year to 33 million, and the number of sellers on the platform reached 117,000.
Oget Kantarci, general manager of GittiGidiyor , said that the epidemic has frustrated most physical stores in Turkey. Many of the new sellers added last year came from offline entities. These sellers mainly sell beauty and personal care, household goods, decoration and gardening, computers and tablets, building materials and clothing accessories.
In terms of exports, GittiGidiyor had about 2,000 sellers exporting tens of thousands of products through the platform in 2020. Oget said their goal for 2021 is to double the number of e-commerce export sellers on the platform.
The platform also stated that as the number of buyers increased, mobile phone sales also saw a huge increase. It is reported that GittiGidiyor's mobile sales in 2020 increased by 50% compared to 2019. Mobile sales accounted for 64% of the platform's total sales.

The second largest source is directly entering the official website domain name in the browser, which accounts for 25.43%.
GittiGidiyor 's strength has attracted much attention. In 2007, eBay became its partner and acquired a small stake. Four years later, in May 2011, eBay acquired 95% of its shares. Since then, GittiGidiyor has joined the eBay family.
Sellers who are interested in this platform can pay attention to it. In addition, the editor learned that national sellers need a local agent to enter the platform, because they need to fill in the local Turkish mobile phone number when registering an account. middle East Türkiye GittiGidiyor |
