What is Beru? Beru Review, Features

Beru is an e-commerce platform jointly launched by Sberbank, Russia's savings bank, and Yandex, Russia's largest search engine.


About Beru

Yandex and Sberbank have been testing Beru since June 2018, and the platform has completed more than 180,000 orders so far. In October 2018, Beru was officially launched in the Russian market, with more than 1,000 retailers on the platform and more than 600 shopping categories for consumers, ranging from home appliances to cosmetics.


Russian e-commerce market

Morgan Stanley estimates that Russia's e-commerce market was worth $19 billion in 2018, and the investments starting next year will help the country's market rise to $52 billion by 2023.


Merchants Category

Electronics, home and garden supplies, sporting goods, pet supplies, small appliances, baby products, cosmetics and perfumes, etc.

Development History

- In August 2017, Yandex and Sberbank signed a joint venture agreement based on the Yandex.Market service, which focuses on buying and selling goods over the Internet.

-On April 4, 2018, the transaction was approved by the Federal Antitrust Office.

- On April 27, 2018, Yandex and Sberbank reached an agreement to create a joint venture, the cost of which is estimated at 60 billion rubles.

-On May 21, 2018, the Beru beta version was launched. In the beta version, there are about 25,000 products in 6 main categories (electronics, computers and home appliances, home and garden supplies, baby products, beauty and health products, and pet products).

-On October 24, 2018, the Beru platform was officially launched.
