What is Land Transport? Land Transport Review, Features

Land Transportation is land transportation, which is relative to sea transportation and air transportation. It mainly includes road transportation and rail transportation.

Operation process

1. Shipping procedures

(1) Assembly: The goods are assembled according to the type, nature, weight and volume of the goods in accordance with the transportation plan and the regulations of railway and road freight.

(2) Document preparation: Clearly and accurately fill in various documents related to the transportation of goods.

(3) Consignment: Submit the freight bill to the carrier station on the specified date, transport the goods to the shipping station, and complete the inventory, inspection, and handover procedures with the freight forwarder.

(4) Delivery of documents: The consignor shall promptly submit the receipt of delivery, payment receipt, transport handover document, commodity purchase and sales receipt and other relevant documents to the consignee.

(5) Forecast: After the goods are shipped, the consignor shall immediately calculate and collect the prepayment and other expenses from the consignee, and forecast the arrival time of the goods to the consignee.

2. Transfer procedures

(1) Acceptance of transit goods: When the transit point receives the transit goods, it should immediately check and accept them according to the bill of lading. If there is any discrepancy, the reason should be found out and the goods should be corrected before transshipment. The goods should not be transferred in the wrong way.

(2) Shipping of transit goods: The stay time should be shortened as much as possible, and the goods should be shipped in the order they arrive, so that the goods are shipped in batches. When shipping, it is important to ensure that the documents and goods go together or that the documents go first.

3. Receiving procedures

(1) Prepare for receiving the goods and contact the business department to arrange the connection between the vehicle and the ship. Contact the warehouse to prepare for warehousing, and arrange and organize short-distance transportation and handling and loading and unloading forces.

(2) Handle the receiving formalities: When receiving the goods delivered by the transportation department, they should be checked and accepted piece by piece according to the waybill. If the outer packaging of the goods is found to be abnormal, the goods are incomplete, the goods are scattered, or the batches are mixed up, the freight records should be compiled in time with the transport department, and the reasons should be found out to clarify the responsibilities between the shipping unit, the transport unit, the transport department, and the receiving unit so as to deal with it in time.

advantage

1. Road transportation: strong flexibility, low construction investment, easy to adapt to local conditions, and door-to-door delivery.

2. Railway transportation: fast transportation speed, large carrying capacity, and not greatly affected by natural conditions.

shortcoming

1. Road transportation: The unit transportation cost is relatively high.

2. Railway transportation: large construction investment, can only run on fixed routes, poor flexibility, needs to be coordinated and connected with other modes of transportation, and high cost for short-distance transportation.
