Another BUG? A large number of sellers claim that their listings were inexplicably tampered with

Recently, many sellers reported in the Amazon forum that their listings were inexplicably changed, and they didn’t know whether it was a bug or intentional by the platform.

One seller posted a question, why the Amazon platform (or some unknown algorithm) has the right to adjust the product classification and other related information of his listing, but he himself does not have the authority?

What’s even more outrageous is that the platform can actually add or delete product descriptions and even remove some product images, but sellers have no way to do anything about it, and opening a case doesn’t solve any problems.

“Are there any terms or legal documents that show that Amazon has the power above brands and sellers to modify sellers’ listings without notice, request or authorization?”

"Doesn't Amazon realize that these changes could be a devastating blow to us sellers? Not only will sales be affected, but even the brand image could be damaged," the seller questioned.

Regarding this phenomenon, sellers are speculating whether it is Amazon employees who have modified their listing information or whether it is simply a system bug.

Although the reason is unknown, sellers found through discussion that this phenomenon is not an isolated case, and many sellers shared similar experiences they had encountered.

One seller shared a particularly outrageous experience. According to the seller, Amazon inexplicably added a size option to his product. He originally only had a "small size", but now he has to choose between "small" and "small".

Then, the system automatically prompted an error message saying that two size options cannot be the same. When the seller tried to make changes, the system prompted that the ASIN did not match the existing size. In the end, after a long time of trying to solve the problem, the seller had to delete the listing.

"My situation is similar. We sell clothing products, but Amazon suddenly classified them as pet clothing because we added a puppy picture in the title. But this is our brand image, and we have been in the clothing category since 2017."

In fact, whether it is a system bug or the platform does it intentionally, the impact on sellers is huge. If there is no way to fix it, it will cause permanent damage to the store's sales.

However, Amazon has not yet given any official response to this situation.
