eBay said in an interview with the media that they will expand their "authentic guarantee" service to the urban fashion field . eBay said that the search volume for " street wear " ( a style of clothing ) has increased by nearly 100% year-on-year worldwide , and they will continue to expand this plan to more countries and categories.

eBay's "Authenticity Guarantee" landing page explains which categories the program currently applies to: sneakers, handbags, watches, jewelry and trading cards. The page explains, "Items with the Authenticity Guarantee mark are automatically sent to our authentication center for product verification. This will ensure that the item you receive is exactly as described in the listing."
