Mediterranean Shipping Company recently announced that it will implement new FAK rate increases for cargo shipped to the United States and the Caribbean from January 1, 2022. In addition to increasing FAK rates for 20-foot and 40-foot HCs, the company will also increase FAK rates for 20 ^, 30 , 40 ^, 50, and high-cubic-meter dry containers .

Industry insiders said that the increase in freight rates is closely related to the unresolved problem of port congestion, which has further led to overall poor logistics operations and container shortages.
