Amazon backend crashed, seller: I thought my account was blocked!

Amazon backend crashed, what happened?

Since the early morning, a large number of sellers have reported:

"——I can't log in to the backend and it says the password is incorrect. Is this normal?

——Is there a problem with Amazon’s backend again? The price cannot be modified even through the link.

——I’m speechless. The backend crashed so badly that I thought my account was blocked!

——Today’s flash sale is a waste, it hurts!

——At midnight, I couldn’t click into the flash sale, and when I did, an error message appeared. I finally refreshed and added the number, but the progress bar was still running as before without adding the number. ”

All of this is due to a large-scale failure of Amazon's cloud service.

At 9:37 a.m. PST Tuesday , the Amazon Web Services status page showed that much of the internet was loading slowly or failing because of problems with its cloud servers.

This caused the seller center to be inaccessible. In addition, delivery also became a problem.

Warehouse and delivery workers, as well as drivers for Amazon’s Flex service, said they were unable to access the Flex app or the AtoZ app and therefore could not scan packages or access delivery routes.

Unable to report to work, many warehouse and delivery workers were directed to wait in break rooms until the problem was resolved. Samuel Caceres, an Amazon driver in Washington state, said his delivery facility has been "at a standstill" since 8 a.m. PST.

It is the peak holiday sales season, and Amazon's sudden incident really hurts sellers. Fortunately, the network failure did not last very long. At around 3 pm, Amazon updated the notification, saying that many services have been restored and it is currently working hard to fully restore network services.

Data from Downdetector shows that during this period, the web monitoring site reported more than 20,000 complaints against Amazon and more than 11,000 complaints against the company's cloud computing unit, Amazon Web Services. By 1:45 p.m. , the number of complaints against cloud services had fallen by half, and those about Amazon had fallen by two-thirds.

But no matter what, this still caused certain losses to sellers, such as the inability to adjust advertisements, delivery delays, etc. In fact, at the end of last year, Amazon also suffered a backend crash due to network outages. I hope this will not become a holiday routine for Amazon.
