2023 Taobao Tmall 618 Merchants’ Key Points: Good Products, Good Prices and Good Content

On May 10 , the 2023 Taobao Tmall 618 Merchant Conference was also held on the occasion of Taobao 's 20th birthday. At the conference, Mu Shan, the general manager of Taobao Tmall 618, outlined three key points for merchants: good products at good prices, Taobao Good Price Festival, and short videos and live broadcasts that are good to look at and browse.

 

Mu Shan said that this year's Taobao Tmall 618 is the largest investment in history. Taobao Tmall is expected to achieve more than 60 billion traffic exposure during the entire 618 period this year , attracting a large number of customers for merchants. At the same time, Alimama also provided a total of 230 million red envelopes to bring tens of billions of traffic support to more than 1 million merchants . In addition, there are also cost-reduction measures such as freight insurance discounts, supply chain subsidies, credit loan interest rate discounts, and quick payment without handling fees.


 

Good products with good prices will receive certain traffic support during the 6.18 shopping festival this year. During the 6.18 shopping festival this year, low-priced products and similar low-priced products on the entire network will be marked and recommended on the search side for consumers to quickly select and buy.

 

During the 6.18 spot sales period from May 31 to June 20 , the Juhuasuan direct discount special event was added for the first time, which is a new option for merchants to obtain incremental orders. Taobao's 10 billion subsidies organized advantageous supply with major brands during the 6.18 period, subsidizing 10,000 items per day to the lowest price on the entire network, and providing consumers with a service commitment of compensation for overpriced purchases.

 

In terms of new products and global top products, Taobao Tmall established a new product incubation pool around more than 10 million new products during the 6.18 event. Tmall and major global brands jointly built the "Global Top Products Club" , and high-quality top products can also receive commission-free incentives. In addition, the platform will organize more than 10,000 super single products, provide strong search traffic guarantees, Alimama hot product guarantee plans and other support.

 

It is worth noting that small and medium-sized businesses will have a stronger sense of participation in Taobao Tmall's 6 18 this year. From June 4 to June 13 , the 6 18 marketing channel exclusively for small and medium-sized businesses will be launched for the first time : Taobao Good Price Festival. The newly established Taotian Group Small and Medium Enterprise Development Center has also launched three exclusive development plans for small and medium-sized businesses: advertising subsidies, AI intelligent efficiency improvement, and business guarantees.

 

Short videos and live broadcasts that are fun to watch are a major focus of Taobao Tmall's 618 content track. Data shows that this year's Taobao Tmall 618 will also welcome the first broadcast of more than 50,000 new anchors. It is reported that Taobao Tmall will launch four special columns during 618 : New Encyclopedia of Life, New Culture of Interests, New Scenes of Features, and New Lifestyles, so that consumers can enjoy shopping and get good prices. At the same time, the platform also provides traffic support for high-quality expert content in information flow, shopping, venues and off-site .

 

The time rhythm of Taobao Tmall 6 18 this year has also been determined. It is divided into three stages, all starting at 8 pm. The pre-sale starts at 8 pm on May 26 , the first round of sales starts at 8 pm on May 31 and ends at 12 pm on June 3 , and the second round of sales starts at 8 pm on June 15 and ends at 12 pm on June 20 .
