Since its US debut last September, Temu has been on a roll, expanding to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with plans to enter the UK and other European markets.
However, the quality control of Temu platform products does not seem to have kept up with the rapid pace of development.
Similar to the early days of Amazon, the Temu platform is currently flooded with a large number of "copycat" products. Although these products do not clearly mark their own brands, their appearance is almost exactly the same as some big-name products, such as Apple's headphones and watches.
A foreign netizen was very curious about this, so he ordered three products from Temu, wanting to compare them with the genuine ones.
Two weeks later, an orange package with the Temu logo was delivered to the netizen's home. The first product was a magnetic wireless charging phone case that Apple users love very much. From the appearance, you can see that the two products are almost identical, but there are some slight differences in some details. The socket at the bottom of the phone case I bought from Temu is different from the original one, and the texture does not look very good, but considering that I only spent $0.98 on this phone case, it is already a great value for money.
The second product taken out of the package was a pair of headphones, which looked like an imitation of Apple's AirPods, but the price was only about one-tenth of the original price ($7.18). The netizen first tried to pair this product with a mobile phone and found it went smoothly. It seems that Apple phones cannot identify the authenticity of this headset. However, after putting on the headset, the netizen immediately understood that you get what you pay for. The sound quality of the headset is simply unbearable. It seems that this kind of product is only suitable as a decoration.
The last product in the package is a smartwatch similar to the Apple Watch. Although it is not packaged in a rectangular box like the Apple Watch 8, it still has many similarities in appearance with Apple's genuine watch. Although this watch purchased from Temu only costs $13.98, its texture and interface design are as good as the genuine product, and the applications in it are also quite smooth to use.
After this experience, the foreign netizen believes that it is still not recommended to buy such counterfeit products in Temu, because in fact, in addition to these imitations of big-name products, there are also some niche electronic products that may look average in appearance but have better performance, and their cost-effectiveness is higher.
