700 sellers reach £1 million in sales for the first time! Amazon UK is growing rapidly

Recently, Amazon released the "UK SME Impact Report", which shows that SMEs selling goods on the Amazon platform have created about 250,000 new jobs in the UK. More than 15,000 UK SMEs selling on Amazon have sales of more than 100,000 pounds , and more than 700 have achieved sales of 1 million pounds or more for the first time.

It seems that many small business owners have been able to adapt to the less optimistic environment and are slowly developing despite various challenges .

In the UK Amazon store, more than half of physical product sales come from independent selling partners, most of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. There are currently more than 85,000 UK SMEs selling goods on Amazon, an increase of more than 25% year-on-year. Northwest England now has more than 12,000 sellers, an increase of 35% over the previous year ; Wales has more than 2,500 sellers, an increase of 30% over last year . More and more small and medium-sized enterprises are entering Amazon, and their number is growing rapidly.

In addition, tens of thousands of UK sellers have reached more than 5 million businesses around the world through Amazon Business, selling approximately 20 million items of office supplies, hotels, healthcare, maintenance products and IT goods, generating sales of more than £400 million.

Many small businesses are thriving against a challenging backdrop, with sales continuing to grow both at home and abroad. Amazon said some smaller European countries, including the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden, are seeing strong market growth.

On October 5 and 6, Amazon also hosted its annual European Brand Conference , providing more content and networking opportunities for current and future Amazon selling partners. The event program includes more than 900 minutes of in-depth breakout sessions and live Q&A with senior Amazon leaders, as well as sessions providing guidance on building, protecting and connecting brands.

Caroline Lavelle , chief commercial officer at the Federation of Small Businesses, said: “Amazon has played an indelible role in supporting our small businesses to improve their online presence and reach. We hope more and more businesses will take part.”

Amazon, which positions itself as a champion of small businesses and a job creator, has launched online courses for sellers aimed at helping more than 200,000 businesses of all sizes grow online , and more than 600,000 businesses have accessed the accelerator .
