FDA warns! Amazon urgently removes dangerous goods

Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ( FDA) issued a warning to Amazon because the Amazon platform illegally sold unapproved mole removal products.

The United States Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act prohibits the interstate sale of unapproved drugs and cosmetics.

It is understood that the illegal products sold on the Amazon platform are Deisana Mole Remover , Repair Gel Kit and Kincell Mole Remover Essence , which may cause wounds and scars after use .

In addition to Amazon, the FDA also sent warning letters to Ariella Naturals and Justified Laboratories .

The FDA emphasized that the mole removal products sold by these companies have not undergone FDA safety, effectiveness , and quality assessments and pose safety risks. The products must be approved by the FDA before they can be sold .

After receiving the warning letter, these companies have 15 days to make corrections and remove the products from the shelves . If they fail to remove the products from the shelves within the specified time , they may face bans and fines .

The FDA says using over-the-counter (OTC) medications to self-remove moles, skin tags and another type of growth called seborrheic keratosis can delay treatment of skin cancer and lead to welts and scars.

Dr. Chad Prather, a board-certified dermatologist at Barton, believes that many patients with skin cancer, when undiagnosed, will mistake skin cancer for a benign mole and try to treat it at home using physical means or over-the-counter medicines. This behavior is very dangerous and may affect the diagnosis of very serious skin cancers such as melanoma. Because doctors usually judge the severity of melanoma based on the depth of the melanoma , an initial biopsy is needed to understand the true depth so that the most appropriate treatment can be selected.

The FDA stated that in order to protect public health, drug supervision on major e-commerce platforms will be stricter in the future. In order to eliminate counterfeit and non-compliant drugs from the U.S. market , the warning letter is only the first step.

Amazon has not yet responded to the matter , but the two mole removal products mentioned by the FDA have been removed from the Amazon platform . However, the editor found through searching for mole removal products that other mole removal products are still on sale on the Amazon platform.

When selling products, sellers should pay more attention to the product conditions. Illegal products should be removed immediately. Never take chances , otherwise it will cause serious losses to the store.
