Supply chain tensions intensify! Demonstrations and strikes are held in many European countries

According to foreign media reports, on March 19 local time, thousands of people took to the streets in Madrid, the capital of Spain, to protest against the soaring cost of living and fuel caused by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The high cost of living has become unbearable for the Spanish people.

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the exports of daily necessities and energy products of both countries have been greatly restricted, and the production and daily necessities of many European countries have also been greatly affected. It is understood that last year Spain's energy prices rose by 72%, the highest increase in the European Union, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict has caused the country's energy prices to continue to soar.

In addition, the prices of some daily necessities including wheat flour, vegetable oil, and natural gas are also rising. It is reported that the price of natural gas in Spain has almost doubled in the past six months.

In supermarkets in many European countries, people have even started panic buying and hoarding goods. Many supermarkets have also posted purchase limit notices to remind customers to consume rationally.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has also greatly restricted China's chips and accessories related to automobile production and manufacturing as a major producer of metal elements such as nickel and chromium. Many automobile manufacturers in Europe and even the United States have suspended production as a result.

Just on the 21st of this month , Spanish truck drivers announced an unlimited strike to protest against rising fuel prices, which soon evolved into multiple roadblocks and protests, triggering increased supply chain tensions in many industries in the country.

Protests over rising fuel prices have broken out not only in Spain, but also in France and Germany. The high cost of living has made truck drivers in many European countries deeply dissatisfied.

In Athens, Greece, street protests have paralyzed traffic and the country's logistics and transportation have been greatly affected.

Sellers who have recently shipped to European sites should be promptly informed of news such as strikes and keep abreast of logistics and transportation dynamics to avoid losses due to transportation or supply chain problems.
