eBay launches new feature, off-site traffic data report

In addition to the most basic Google search engine, social e-commerce is becoming increasingly popular. For sellers, it is particularly important to promote through major social platforms to increase exposure and popularity and to attract traffic from outside the site in multiple ways. In order to visualize the data of traffic from outside the site, eBay has launched a tool to help sellers obtain data reports.

With this function, sellers can obtain accurate traffic data through tracking links, optimize delivery strategies based on traffic effects, and control investment to maximize profits. Using this tool is divided into four steps, namely, applying for activation, making delivery links, delivering links, and obtaining traffic reports.

Sellers can apply through the Seller Center page by clicking on Off-site Traffic Tracking ”. After filling out the form, they will wait for review. After the review is passed, the seller will obtain a tracking code, which will be used to generate an off-site traffic tracking link and then create a delivery link.

After completing the above, sellers can place ads according to their own advertising channels and wait for consumers to click on them. After a period of time, sellers can download and view the corresponding data report based on the date of placement. The report includes both clicks and transactions . Transaction data is only counted within 30 days after consumers click on the ads . Sellers can analyze the conversion rate based on this and adjust the advertising strategy in a timely manner.

On the other hand, when buyers browse the advertised products, they may be redirected to other sellers through eBay's in-site ads, resulting in ad overflow. Regarding this problem, eBay said that sellers can use coupons to not only alleviate this phenomenon, but also promote consumption conversion.

It is worth noting that this function only provides tracked data reports, and the specific promotion still requires the seller to place it in the corresponding cooperation channels.

With the launch of this feature, sellers can have an intuitive understanding of the advertising data of their various channels, make continuous optimization and adjustments, control costs and maximize profits.
