Another brand failed! Hundreds of products were recalled

Product recalls are not uncommon in cross-border e-commerce. Products are often recalled due to quality issues, even those that have been sold for several years. Mattresses are not common in the recall category. Following the last recall by Amazon, another mattress was recently recalled.

The mattresses involved in this recall have a white surface and navy blue side panels. They are available in six sizes : twin, twin XL, full, queen, king and California king . The production dates of the recalled batches are from July 15, 2021 to August 6, 2021.

The recalled mattresses were sold from July to September 2021 , in offline stores nationwide and on the Serta brand's official website, with prices ranging from US$500 to US$1,000. Approximately 800 pieces were involved.

The reason for the recall is that it does not meet the mandatory federal mattress flammability standards and poses a fire hazard . No related accident reports have been received so far. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's advice, consumers should verify whether the mattress is within the scope of the recall and stop using it immediately accordingly. They can also exchange it for a new mattress free of charge.

The flammability standard is a requirement for many fabric products, and the fabric on the mattress is no exception. Especially for clothing, it is especially important to pay attention, because children's clothing that does not meet the flammability standard is often recalled. If the seller makes related products, it is necessary to check whether they meet this standard in a timely manner.

This is not the first mattress recall. Some time ago, a mattress sold by Amazon was also recalled for not meeting federal mattress flammability standards and posing a fire hazard. At the time, more than 10,000 mattresses were involved . All self-operated products have fallen into the trap . The "flammability standard" requirement covers a wide range of categories, so sellers should pay attention to self-inspection.
