Nearly half of UK consumers feel stressed about buying Christmas gifts

Christmas is one of the most beautiful festivals in the West. On this day, people will get together with their family and friends, give each other gifts, and spend a wonderful day. Christmas should be a happy time, but many British people would think that the holiday is a stressful thing for them.

Some people believe that Christmas is also a drain on their time , money and sanity . People with large families may worry about receiving a steady stream of gifts from relatives, or having to visit relatives they don't particularly like . At the same time, activities such as decorating the tree and buying Christmas gifts can cause them a certain amount of pressure.

When talking about Christmas, we can’t avoid buying Christmas gifts. However, according to foreign media reports, nearly half of British people who celebrate Christmas say that buying gifts is a very stressful thing for them. The source of pressure comes from the cost of buying gifts, the purchase channels, and the need to deliver gifts on time, which will put a certain amount of pressure on their finances and time.

In addition, some British people believe that receiving unwanted Christmas gifts can also cause some stress because they don't know what to do with these items . Putting up decorations and storing them after Christmas can also cause some stress for these people.

Among British adults who celebrate Christmas, many Christmas activities are gender-specific. British men are twice as likely (17%) as women (9%) to say they don’t put up Christmas decorations ; men (13%) are also twice as likely as women (6%) to say they don’t wrap presents . Overall, one in 11 British people who celebrate Christmas do not wrap presents.

As well as the stress of buying presents, around three in ten Brits find Christmas food shopping stressful , as does meeting up with family , hosting guests and having to visit relatives they don’t like . Around one in five Brits report feeling anxious about having to see friends and family.
