Amazon blocks sellers from selling goods due to loopholes in "platform policy"

Recently, a seller on Amazon's official forum reported that he received customer feedback two weeks ago saying that he bought counterfeit goods in the seller's store. Subsequently, Amazon directly closed the seller's account, withheld the nearly $50,000 balance in his account, and required him to provide product invoices to prove that he was selling legal products.

It is understood that the seller's identity is somewhat special - "drop shipper". Amazon's "Drop Shipping Policy" also has clear provisions: unless you clearly tell the customer that you are a seller, you will not accept drop shipping or allow a third party to deliver orders to customers on your behalf.

The following two behaviors will directly lead to store closure:

1. Purchase from other stores and ship directly to the buyer.

2. Product packaging slips, invoices, outer packaging, or other information that displays a seller’s name or contact information that is not yours.

It is understood that the seller has sold hundreds of related products, but can only provide a dozen product purchase invoices for appeal. If the seller can provide purchase invoices for all goods to prove the legitimacy of the products he sells, the chances of a successful appeal may be higher. At present, the reserved amount in the seller's account is likely to never be withdrawn unless there is clear evidence to prove the legitimacy of the products he sells.

However, some sellers also stated that after learning relevant legal tutorials, they have successfully sold on the Amazon platform through this channel for half a year and have achieved sales of more than 150,000 yuan, and have not encountered any problems so far.

It is understood that although the platform has clear regulations on this, Amazon does not want sellers to sell in this way. For sellers, this is a "gray" sales channel, so the probability of store closure is very high, and it is basically impossible to successfully appeal.

Some sellers also reported seeing related advertisements on certain websites: "Sellers can easily make millions of dollars by selling on Amazon through 'Drop Shipping' without doing anything but taking the money." This behavior is obviously not desirable.

Amazon has a zero-tolerance policy for any violation of its platform policies . Once sellers cross the platform’s “red line,” they will be severely punished. Therefore, when selling, sellers must fully understand the platform’s policies to avoid unnecessary losses.
