Dunhuang.com released an announcement, adding the extended producer responsibility system

Recently, Dunhuang.com released a new announcement, stating that it has added the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system .

Dunhuang.com stated that starting from 2022, it will be illegal to not have an EPR registration number in Germany and France. If the seller's products are sold to Germany or France, please register the ERP registration number in advance so that the seller's products can be operated in compliance.

According to the Extended Producer Responsibility ( EPR) regulations, from January 1, 2022, sellers who want to sell goods in France and/or Germany will need to comply with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements. The platform needs to confirm that the seller has an EPR registration number.

It is reported that EPR stands for Extended Producers Responsiblity, which is an environmental policy that requires producers to be responsible for the entire life cycle of the products they launch on the market, from product design to the end of the product life cycle (including waste collection and treatment). This policy clarifies the responsible parties in the waste recovery, recycling and final disposal of products from production to consumption.

Dunhuang.com pointed out that the platform will open the module for uploading EPR registration numbers in December 2021. Sellers selling goods in France and/or Germany need to upload EPR registration numbers and registration letters according to the country and product category (see the table below for specific requirements of country-product category). For sellers who have not completed the registration declaration and uploaded on the platform, the platform will suspend the release of non-compliant products under the EPR product category according to the requirements of the regulatory authorities, or they will face the detention of goods and fines from the regulatory authorities.

1. Different EPR product categories have separate registration numbers.

2. Germany can use the following registration number as proof that the seller meets the requirements:

Packaging: Registrierungsnummer

Electrical and electronic equipment: WEEE-Reg.-Nr.DE

Battery: Batt-Reg. -Nr.DE2

3. France will unify different product categories into one UIN (“Identifiant Unique”) in the future , but this has not yet been done.
