Amazon has new rules for shipping, and sellers complain that it is "disastrous"...

Recently, Amazon UK released new rules regarding the delivery confirmation process. The original announcement is as follows:

In March this year , Amazon made it mandatory for sellers to enter the name and tracking ID of the delivery service provider during the shipment confirmation process for self-delivered orders.

After the implementation of the new rules, Amazon no longer requires sellers to provide information about the delivery service during the shipment confirmation process. However, sellers must provide Amazon with a valid tracking ID to confirm that the seller using the tracking delivery service has completed the delivery, otherwise the seller will no longer be able to send a confirmed order.

If Amazon Fulfilled by Amazon sellers use Royal Mail 24®/48® or Royal Mail First and Second Class delivery services, they must ensure that the package ID provided is located above the QR code on the label when shipping . When shipping using Royal Mail services without 2D barcodes, Amazon sellers need to contact their Royal Mail account manager or contact customer service on the Royal Mail website to set up these services.

Amazon also stated that if the seller fails to confirm the shipment within 7 days of the expected delivery date , Amazon will automatically cancel the order. At the same time, delays in confirming orders may cause the seller's delayed delivery rate (LDR) to increase. When the delayed delivery rate is too high, the seller's Amazon account will be suspended.

Many self-shipping sellers believe that the policy introduced by Amazon is disastrous for them.

Seller A: I suggest Amazon to think more about the correctness when releasing new policies. The introduction of new policies by Amazon is usually disastrous. This new rule takes Amazon's incompetence to a whole new level, and all of this will only waste the time of Amazon and sellers.

Seller B: I have just been trying to confirm the dispatch of some orders using Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery service and now there is a box on the page for the tracking number but it won't let me mark as dispatched! What a fresh hell this is!

Seller C: As annoying as it is, this set of policies is forcing me to start using Amazon shipping!

Sellers' attitude towards this policy is mostly negative. In short, the announcement is quite long, and sellers who ship their own goods on the UK site should read it carefully to avoid any adverse effects on their business activities in the future.
