Sales of over 70,000 units, the best-selling shower stool is recalled

The recall involves Ivena brand 20-inch teak shower benches, product number 1049998, and product code 8886474018015 printed on the outer packaging.

The recall is due to the fact that these shower stools may collapse during use, posing a fall hazard to the user . To date, the CPSC has received 81 reports of consumers reporting shower stools collapsing, breaking, or falling apart during use, including four reports of people being injured in falls, resulting in coccyx fractures, persistent head and body pain, and bruises.

These shower stools were sold at Costco stores nationwide and online at Costco.com between October 2018 and June 2021 for about $ 80-90 . The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using these recalled shower stools and contact Costco to return them for a full refund. In addition, Costco is also contacting all buyers directly to initiate remediation .
