According to foreign media reports, Penny K Lukito, head of the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration ( BPOM), said that health products in the global market are currently facing fierce competition.
According to data, the sales of health products are expected to reach 127.4 billion yuan in 2021, with a growth rate of about 70%. In addition, the online sales of prescription drugs are gradually becoming large-scale, and there is huge room for market improvement; the advantages of online purchases of over-the-counter drugs, health products and traditional tonics are becoming apparent. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in consumer health awareness, the sales of health products around the world have risen rapidly, and competition has intensified.
Penny K Lukito said at a local import and export event: "We must of course strongly support the export of domestic products, but we should also take into account the increasingly fierce competition for health products in the global market, and the outbreak of the new crown epidemic has exacerbated the severity of this situation."
At the event, Penny K Lukito pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought new insights to countries around the world - people's stable lives come from a healthy social environment, economic system and lifestyle, and one of the criteria for measuring these key points is the country's ability to absorb labor and manufacturing production. Among them, one of the keys to improving the economy is to improve the country's export performance.
In the export conference, Penny K Lukito elaborated on some of the main requirements for product competition in the global market: 1. Products must meet quality standards and have international indicator certification 2. The manufacturing industry must be standardized and complete and meet international requirements 3. The product itself has a certain degree of competitiveness
In addition, Penny K Lukito emphasized that the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) will be committed to providing support to shops and entrepreneurs in the form of technical assistance in the future, and the government will also provide guarantees for the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). At the same time, when exporting goods, enterprises must comply with the laws and regulations of the exporting countries. BPOM will use the market intelligence data provided by the Indonesian government to provide enterprises with policy information and consulting services in the exporting countries or regions.
In addition, Penny K Lukito also emphasized the importance of exporting health products to China at the meeting. Since the Chinese market is huge and difficult to enter, many countries have always been proud to export Chinese goods. Penny K Lukito said that the export of health products and biological product supplements is a form of cooperation between the government and enterprises. While developing domestic enterprises and improving commercial competitiveness, it can also enhance Indonesia's international influence. Indonesia Health Products compete |
