Affected by the epidemic, consumers have had to quickly change their shopping methods and choose to shop through e-commerce platforms to meet their daily needs . ADA, a digital advertising consultancy owned by Malaysian telecommunications company Axiata , revealed that people will buy three major categories of products through e-commerce websites during Ramadan 2021. Faradi Bachri, director of marketing services at ADA Indonesia, said : " 2020 was a challenging year , especially during Ramadan, which is a critical period to increase public consumption levels . However, as e-commerce becomes more and more popular in Indonesia , it will bring new hope to the Indonesian people in 2021. Therefore, Faradi Bachri advises sellers and retailers to take action as soon as possible and make early plans for Ramadan activities. Faradi Bachri : “Consumers are becoming more and more adept at using e-commerce platforms to purchase a variety of products. Consumers’ consumption habits and behaviors are gradually shifting from offline to online . Brands and sellers can use this critical period of Ramadan to develop relevant plans and strategies. ” It is understood that during Ramadan in 2020 , consumers' spending patterns remained similar to the same period last year . The only difference was the way of shopping, with online platforms replacing traditional retail . In addition, ADA also believes that this trend will also occur in 2021, with beauty, electronics and travel products being the most popular during Ramadan in 2021 . Faradi Bachri said: "First, those who frequently visit beauty e-commerce websites and social media applications are loyal fans of health and beauty products; second, there are professionals and home appliance enthusiasts who are happy to buy home appliances to improve the quality of life; finally, those who have travel needs and use aviation apps have purchasing power that should not be underestimated. " Currently, the company has operations in nine South Asian and Southeast Asian countries , and is constantly optimizing its marketing technology to enhance consumer experience . He explained: “ During the Muslim festival of Eid, interactions between friends and family are conducted through social media, and brands need to pay attention to this in order to get more traffic during Eid . ” In addition, sellers can also use some of the platform's functions to distribute gifts , packages , or coupons to users . “ Ramadan in 2021 could be an opportunity for brands to adapt to the rapidly growing e-commerce market , optimize digital channels and actively leverage existing platform capabilities. With the help of ADA’s data, consumer satisfaction can be further enhanced, ” Faradi Bachri concluded.
