eBay stores will be forced to upgrade at the end of March 2021

It is reported that this upgrade of eBay stores will not have much impact on most sellers, but will only affect a few people who are still using custom eBay stores in the old format. eBay stores were upgraded as early as 2019, but some people did not migrate to the new eBay store interface at that time and still used custom eBay stores in the old format.

There are actually many benefits to the new eBay Store, but the ultimate biggest benefit is that it has become very mobile-friendly and can also be used with the eBay mobile app. Not only is the new eBay Store more mobile-friendly and more secure, eBay has also optimized it for search engines (SEO) and offers improved merchandising options.

An email from eBay to the store owner reads:

Upgrade your eBay store by March 31st.

Buyers can't see your current store on the eBay app. However, 63% of eBay sales already have a mobile touchpoint. To make sure you don't miss out, we'll upgrade your store to a new mobile-friendly design after March 31, 2021.

Sellers who have upgraded have seen a 20% increase in store visits from the eBay app. Get the most out of your store - Upgrade today, add your logo and banner, and bring your store to more potential buyers on the eBay app.

If you take no action, we will automatically migrate your store after March 31, 2021. Your personal listing will not be affected.

If you receive this email, you will have two choices: either give up on customizing your store design and upgrade immediately, or wait for eBay to force you to upgrade your store, and then go back to modify the settings yourself and add your logo and banner when you have time.

In 2018, when the eBay store announced the changes, some foreign sellers said they hated the new layout, saying the new version looked like a cheap imitation of the old store and that the new eBay store had a significant negative impact on sales. Some sellers also said that customizing the eBay store homepage is good, but they still prefer the old version.

Times have changed. Those sellers who vented their dissatisfaction with the revision back then can only enter new eBay stores now . Fortunately, Chinese sellers are always highly adaptable and have experienced many storms. The current situation is no longer a big deal for everyone.
