GMV reaches US$600 million, Australian e-commerce Kogan achieves record growth

It has to be said that the 2020 epidemic has brought great development to the e-commerce industry, especially during the holidays, when record-breaking sales again and again made a large number of cross-border sellers happy. Recently, the Australian e-commerce platform Kogan released its financial report for the second half of 2020. Data shows that in the second half of 2020, Kogan's sales increased by 97.4% year-on-year to US$638.2 million.

Kogan achieves record sales in 2020

Kogan is Australia's leading retailer. Founded in 2006, it currently has more than 8 million active users. It mainly sells electronic products, food, cleaning products, household laundry supplies and pet food. It was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2016.

It is reported that Kogan achieved record-breaking development in 2020. Relevant data showed that as many as 470,000 items were sold in Black Friday alone , with total sales exceeding US$50 million.

In addition, in the second half of 2020, in order to expand its market share, Kogan allowed third-party suppliers to sell goods on Kogan 's website . This move attracted a large number of sellers and enabled Kogan to earn US$13.2 million in seller-related fees, an increase of 141% compared to the same period in 2019.

Active buyers exceeded 3 million

In 2020 , Kogan acquired two online retail sites in order to expand its market share . Furniture brand Matt Blatt achieved a total online sales of $1 million in the first week of Black Friday; New Zealand online 3C website Mighty Ape had 719,000 active customers in the first half of the year.

In addition, Kogan also revealed recent sales data. Now that the epidemic is under control, its total sales are expected to increase by 45% year-on-year, and gross profit will soar by more than 102%.

It is reported that Kogan 's next plan is to develop the Australian and New Zealand markets, and will continue to expand its own brands, strengthen market optimization and development, complete team integration and expand its active customer base. In addition, while expanding its business, Kogan is increasing improvements to its logistics, marketing, network systems and other infrastructure to continuously meet consumer needs.

In fact, although the epidemic in 2021 has been brought under control, the development of e-commerce will not stop, and sellers also need to pay close attention, take steady steps , and stand firm in the e-commerce industry .
