Amazon US announced that starting from April 15, 2022, Amazon operations centers will remove the inventory of easily recyclable items and charge a certain fee.

To avoid being disposed of by Amazon's fulfillment center, sellers must submit removal orders for their trade-in products before April 15.

The announcement also stated that between April 15 and October 15, 2022, EasyRong merchandise inventory will no longer be fulfilled or accepted.

“Messy Inventory” means all heat-sensitive products, including but not limited to chocolates, gummies, jellies, and wax products.

To protect the integrity of merchandise during storage and transportation, products in distribution centers must be able to withstand summer temperatures ranging from 75 to 155 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is worth noting that the United States implements daylight saving time, which starts on the first Sunday of April and ends on the last Sunday of October. The season is an important factor in Amazon's announcement, and hot weather will increase inventory storage costs.

Some sellers said that this year does not seem to be the first year that Amazon has issued an announcement to remove easily redeemable products during daylight saving time. Similar announcements were issued last year and the year before.

Some sellers who sell meltable products said that the products they sell are likely to receive negative reviews in the summer because the gummy candies consumers receive are large pieces of gummy candies stuck together due to the weather, which will also affect the sellers' orders.

In response to this announcement, many sellers said that they would recall Yirong products and sell them on other platforms, and some sellers chose to abandon the products.

Influenced by this policy, many sellers began to adjust their strategies in the hope that the products would be sold out before the recall date.

If a seller feels that their product does not qualify as a meltable item, they can provide Amazon with an email from the manufacturer, which must be issued by the manufacturer and can prove that their product can be stored for a long time at a maximum temperature of 155 degrees Fahrenheit.

Of course, the most important thing is that sellers who sell related products should be well prepared and plan for stocking and shipping to avoid having their sales affected by Amazon’s inventory removal announcement.
