Amazon pushes new rules, extra capacity now online

Yesterday, Amazon UK released a new announcement stating that additional capacity is now available on Amazon's UK and EU sites.

Amazon said that due to the increasing demand for Amazon Logistics from sellers, it has improved storage efficiency and increased the capacity of its fulfillment centers to ensure that sellers can provide buyers with the widest possible selection. Amazon pointed out that it invested heavily in 2020 to expand the area of its fulfillment and logistics network, and opened more than 10 fulfillment centers in the UK and the EU in 2021. Subsequently, Amazon stated that as part of this expansion of the fulfillment center, 7 new fulfillment centers will be put into use on September 6, 2021, including BGY1, MXP6, MUC3, EMA3, NCL1, MAD7 and POZ2.

In addition, Amazon said in the announcement that it has added additional FBA capacity during the peak season and increased replenishment limits to give sellers more opportunities to send the required inventory to the operation center. Amazon encourages sellers to check inventory status regularly and continue to optimize their Amazon logistics options, including removing unsold inventory, to make full use of Amazon's peak sales season.

Amazon emphasized that some unexpected events, such as the impact of the new COVID coronavirus or other restrictions, may cause the plan to need to be adjusted, but Amazon will give priority to the interests of sellers and partners. Amazon is truly committed to providing the best service and values the partnership between sellers and Amazon, and will continue to introduce policies and regulations that are truly beneficial to sellers.

Although Amazon added additional capacity with good intentions, sellers have expressed that there are many problems with the new policy, such as the replenishment limit remains unchanged, the replenishment limit is increased but the storage capacity remains unchanged, etc.

Seller A: So how do you explain the fact that my restocking limit is still the same? Please don't lie to us. We all know that's not true.

Seller B: I noticed that our restocking limits have increased quite a bit, but our storage capacity has remained the same (low). This means we can't send additional inventory because the two limits don't seem to line up. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Seller C: What's the point of increasing the purchase limit but keeping the storage limit the same? I think Amazon should just require one limit and combine them for sellers with IP < 500 to avoid all this confusion.

According to the feedback, the problems encountered by sellers are different. It seems that Amazon's policies need to be further revised. The editor hereby reminds everyone to always pay attention to Amazon's policies and check the inventory capacity in time to avoid the above problems.
