According to the latest research from Counterpoint Internet Services, in India, wireless headset shipments in the third quarter increased by 55% year-on-year, with the highest shipment record reaching 8 million pairs. Coupled with the promotional discounts during the online shopping festival, consumers' desire to buy has been further stimulated.

 

Among them, the Indian local brand boAt achieved good sales performance in the third quarter, driven by reasonable marketing strategies and new product launch discounts. It occupied 35.8% of the market share and ranked first in sales. This also became the highest shipment volume since the brand was founded.

 

boAt also actively participated in the promotional festivals of major e-commerce platforms in the third quarter. The discounts helped consumers remember the product and boost sales. Among them, the Airdopes 131 model became a favorite among consumers, with shipments reaching 1 million pairs for the first time.

 

The domestic brand Realme and the Indian brand Noise ranked second and third with market shares of 8.1% and 7.7% respectively; Apple’s AirPods series shipments also hit a record high, ranking fourth with a share of 7.6%, among which AirPods (2nd generation) had the best sales.


 

Senior research analyst Anshika Jain said that in terms of feature selection, consumers are increasingly focusing on active noise reduction (ANC) and professional wireless headphones for gaming. Brands Truke and Ptron also took the opportunity to launch their first gaming-specific Bluetooth headsets.

 

In addition to highly targeted functional headphones, appearance and material are also important factors that influence consumers' purchase of headphones.

 

Good looks are one thing. Consumers who have sports needs also have requirements for the material of the headphones, and will try to choose lightweight materials. Consumers who need to wear them for a long time will have higher requirements for the fit of the earplugs. Functions such as waterproof, dual connection, touch control, and equalizer are also factors that consumers consider when purchasing.

 

Therefore, when selecting products, relevant sellers and companies can consider targeted and functional headphone categories, and they can also prepare some functionally balanced categories to pair with consumers with general needs.
